Is Sri Lanka suitable for a holiday with children?
Sri Lanka is a fantastic holiday destination for traveling with children. The small island offers everything families could want for a successful holiday: great travel weather, beautiful beaches, many child-friendly adventure and excursion destinations, family-friendly hotels and people who love children. You can also introduce your children to a different culture in Sri Lanka and help them discover the diversity of the world. A family trip to Sri Lanka is a wonderful way to give your children lots of new experiences and wonderful experiences.
Which Sri Lanka trip is recommended with children?
Which type of Sri Lanka trip is best for you as a family depends on your holiday wishes and the age of your children . Your travel time also plays a role.
In general, the smaller the children, the more comfortable the trip should be. Long, comfortable trips with little program and long recovery times are particularly suitable for traveling with a baby or small children. As soon as the children are a little older and more active, you can plan a more intensive program. Nevertheless, there should also be enough (program-free) time for slightly older children to relax, play, read and bathe.

Child-friendly hotels with pools and other leisure options are a must when traveling with children. Luckily, there is a large, varied selection of family-friendly accommodation in Sri Lanka – for (almost) every travel budget.
For small (and large) adventurers, special accommodation such as tree houses, eco-lodges or tent camps are highly recommended. These ensure unforgettable experiences and are guaranteed to be a very special highlight on every trip.

Beach vacation in Sri Lanka with children
If you are planning a beach holiday with children in Sri Lanka or would like to spend a few days with the family by the sea after a tour, you should pay particular attention to two things:
1) Choose the right coast for your travel time.
A beach vacation on the wrong beach at the wrong time can literally fall apart. Don’t be tempted by great special offers, but check the weather and swimming conditions in Sri Lanka for your holiday month. Here you will find all the information about the best time to travel to Sri Lanka .
2) Choose a suitable beach for your needs.
Do you prefer it quiet or is a good tourist infrastructure with lots of bars, restaurants and shops more important to you? Would you like to be able to swim in the sea or is a nice beach and a hotel with a large pool enough for you? Would you also like to go on excursions during your beach holiday or are you primarily interested in rest and relaxation? The conditions on the beaches of Sri Lanka couldn’t be more different. If you don’t get good advice here, you could experience one or two disappointments on site.
